Buses used on sightseeing tours. City tours of Madrid had been previously operated by Madrid Vision's under a contract with the city council. The contract finished on 04/01/2011 and the company ceased operating and withdrew from the city. It is reported that the local council appeared to have forgotten about arranging a tender for a new contract, and an emergency contract was agreed involving the local bus company, EMT. Later in 2011, a new contract was won by 'Madrid City Tours', which is part of ALSA/Grupo Julia, using its own fleet of brand new Volvo open-tops, and a contract for 10 years. So far, only nine of the buses have been identified, while it has been reported that there are twenty six in the new fleet, so if you can help us to identify the others, or supply any further details on this new fleet, then please contact us.
